It’s the true story about Brian Banks, who was accused of raping a fellow student in high school. He was convicted and sent to jail.
After release, his accuser contacted him. The woman – excuse me, the term “dumbass” would seem to be an appropriate term here – asked to meet.
Banks agreed, and did so – after being wired up by his lawyers.
In that recorded conversation, she admitted to having made up the whole story.
His story was just released as a movie. It’s an uncomfortable story, just now, about false accusation of an innocent man. For that reason, one reviewer has slammed it. The reviewer has called it “about speaking truth to power”.
Uh-uh. It’s about the chaos and violence that a lying woman can inflict on an innocent man, by using her female position to accuse him of the crime of rape.
